Actuators use electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic energy to open and close elements of a valve.

Pneumatic rack and pinion actuators set new standards in performance and energy management and have revolutionised the control of butterfly valves, ball valves and plug valves. These actuators provide up to 40% higher torque with the same or smaller construction size and from 40% to up to 60% less air consumption compared with other types.

The pneumatic scotch-yoke is a type of actuator with a U-torque characteristic, which is favourable for valves (maximum torque requirement in the end positions (OPEN / CLOSE) and shut-off valves (maximum torque requirement in the closed position).  Special kinematics have particularly advantageous mechanical properties at large armatures or at high flow rates. In these applications, a hydrodynamic torque acts on the shut-off element. This torque can even exceed the nominal torque requirement of the valve.

Electric actuators can rotate 90° and are used for ball valves, butterfly valves, plug valves and 3-way valves.  Constructed with quality in mind this product consists of a robust powder-coated aluminium body and a self-locked gear in high alloy steel.
